DISHA

With digital learning gaining traction by the day, there was a felt need to address the digital divide prevalent in remote geographies and across the marginalized sections of the population in India. 

DISHA was initiated as a basic computer literacy pilot programme in SACHETA’s Amtali Centre in July 2022. This was done in collaboration with SHAPE, a Kolkata based development-based consultancy firm, and an associate of SACHETA having access to trained teachers. 

The programme aimed at young students of Sunderbans gained quick popularity in the area and now has students from different age groups in the village. 

Within a short span, the student base under DISHA has grown to about 147.
